I've always wanted to have a Black Tie Bingo Party. Sexy snacks and outfits, balanced by prudish cocktails and Grandma's B-I-N-G-O. Anyone want in? Images, clockwise starting in the top left-hand corner: Matthew Mead, Flickr, Budget Living and Elegant Bride.
I've been on the hunt for a large antique mirror for over our mantel, and this one from Martha Stewart Living, October '07, caught my eye. Vintage Pinehas some beautiful ones, but they're WAY over my budget. I even went to the Antique Fairthis weekend hoping I'd stumble on a bargain, but no luck. Back to my reoccurring search on Ebay.
Fall is here, and with it comes my obsession with all things pumpkin. This year it's Pumpkin Whoopie Pies. Dean and Deluca's look pretty delicious, but I really want to make my own. I can't find a recipe I'm crazy about. I think I'm going to wing it.
Martha'sGood Things For the Home (Fall 2007) is inspiring me to get my spare bedroom together. We currently don't have a head board (or curtains, or rugs...or any coziness for that matter). And of course - because of wedding activities - we'll have a ton of people staying in there over the next few weeks. I recently bought these curtainsin an effort to jazz up the space. (I'm bummed that anthropologie doesn't carry their line of curtains in the store anymore. I hope I like them in-person!!)
These dressing tables from the October '07 House & Garden are gorgeous. I wouldn't say I'm overtly feminine in my decorating style (although maybe Theo would disagree), but there is something so great about having a personal corner that is all girl.
The October '07 issue of Country Living is fantastic. The second home of Ernie Sesskin and Brian Foster is featured (above), and these pictures alone are worth the price of the magazine. I'm loving the fern and bird study prints Sesskin and Foster sell in their shop, Botanical Style.
