Best EVER
The March '07 issue of Domino has to be the best issue ever (which is saying a lot - it's always fantastic)! They focus on Green Living this month, and Green has never looked so good. I especially love this nursery.

I was getting my hair cut today, and there were some gorgeous flowers at the reception desk. I found out they were from Jayson Home & Garden, only my favorite home/design/garden store in Chicago. They have some great bouquets prepared for Valentine's Day - like this Jewel Toned arrangement above. I'm seriously considering them for The Big Day (The Wedding)!
Rolland Bello's work keeps popping up everywhere. First Gourmet, now Domino. And of course, he's always in the Anthropologie catalog. Apparently I'm not the only one who can't get enough of him!
How darling are these City Skyline Cupcakes from Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie?
I recognize some of Rolland Bello's photography from the Anthropologie catalog. I think I flipped through every photo on his website. Love it.

I think this Smith & Hawken Rosemary Topiary would be a great holiday hostess gift for the friend who cooks. I'd probably re-pot it first in something more neutral so it could last well past the holidays. There is nothing like fresh herbs. This would look great on a kitchen counter - and smell fantastic too. Wrapped in some thick cellophane and tied up with a pretty (brown) ribbon...perfect.
I found this Flickr Tag Browser via GraphicDesignBar. The photos are arranged in a way that is so cool, and then it links you to the related Flickr page. I stumbled on this picture by searching for typography....next search? Wedding Flowers!
A busy executive chef that wanted to spend more time with her kids, Mary Ellen Diaz started First Slice after reading about and being inspired by Jane Addams' Hull House. First Slice feeds Chicago's Homeless with delicious food like Cauliflower Soup or Spinach and Butternut Squash Lasagna.
There are several ways to support First Slice: eat at the Cafe (in Logan Square), become a patron and sign up for several months of prepared meals to-go (like Duck Confit with Sour Cherries or Mojito Chicken), or donate your time or money to the cafe.
First Slice was featured in the November issue of Food & Wine Magazine. Read the full (very inspiring) article here.
I love these 12 days of Christmas plates from Rosanna. I seem to be skipping right over Thanksgiving (mantels with garland, Christmas plates). I think it's a defense mechanism: I haven't found one recipe for the big Thanksgiving meal yet.. aahhhh.
