Projected Movies

I love the idea of randomly projected movies.  Haven't you seen those great magazine spreads: A movie in a field, projected on the side of an old barn, everyone sitting on blankets and eating popcorn?  Some neighbors in the building next to ours projected a movie onto the side of their place last summer - and I really wanted to invite myself over to watch. I've got to come up with a way to incorporate this into our next party!  I've been tossing around the idea of working it into the wedding somehow - the side of the tent would be perfect - but I've yet to have my ah-ha moment. Inspiration: Found

I was looking for inspiration, and I found it through Victoria's blog.  She posted about Lena Corwin's wedding photos, and they look like my idea of a perfect backyard wedding!

Wanted: Inspiration

         

I've been feeling so uninspired lately (as evidenced by my lack of blog posts). But I need to gear up - I'm taking Friday and Monday off to do some serious wedding planning.  These birch bark tubes from Small Stump are everywhere, and I think they'd make great centerpieces.

Jayson Home & Garden Flowers

I was getting my hair cut today, and there were some gorgeous flowers at the reception desk.  I found out they were from Jayson Home & Garden, only my favorite home/design/garden store in Chicago.  They have some great bouquets prepared for Valentine's Day - like this Jewel Toned arrangement above.  I'm seriously considering them for The Big Day (The Wedding)!

'O' What a Centerpiece

       

I was considering a more traditional autumn palette for the wedding - oranges, browns - but this centerpiece in the Winter 2006 issue of O at Home is inspiring me.  Love the rich purples and greens. Man - purple is EVERYWHERE is year. I don't think I'm over it yet. hmmmm....
